Soil Summary:
dominant soils are very shallow and shallow to granite, gneiss and similar rocks; very cobbly loams, extremely and very gravelly sandy loams, or very gravelly loams throughout; no lime; no or little soil development (surface organic matter accumulation); the mapped area is dominated by Pima County soil survey map unit 40 (Lampshire-Romero- Rock outcrop complex, 10 to 65 percent slopes) and 20 (Cortaro-Rock outcrop-Faraway complex, 15 to 45 percent slopes) which comprise 61% and 37% of the unit, respectively
Geologic Materials:
alluvium, colluvium and residuum associated with the Catalina-Rincon igneous metamorphic complex (TXm) which comprises 100% of the unit
Landforms:
coarsely to moderately dissected, weakly incised mountain slopes
