Soil Summary:
dominant soils are shallow to granite and similar rocks; very gravelly sandy loams throughout and some better developed soils with sandy clay loam subsoils; no lime; no to modest soil development; the mapped area is dominated by Pima County soil survey map units 70 (Romero-Oracle complex, 25 to 60 percent slopes) and 52 (Oracle-Romero-Rock outcrop complex, 5 to 35 percent slopes) which comprise 66% and 34% of the unit, respectively
Geologic Materials:
alluvium, colluvium and residuum associated with the Catalina-Rincon igneous metamorphic complex (TXm); conglomerate? (KJb); Apache Group and Troy Quartzite, middle Proterozoic (Ya); middle Proterozoic granitic rocks (Yg); and Paleozoic sediments? (P3s) which comprise 62%, 16%, 8%, 6% and 5% of the unit, respectively

moderately to finely dissected, moderately to deeply incised mountain slopes
