Photo Point 070
Description:
Along Interstate 10 a few miles west of the Mescal exit.
The whitethorn and creosote bush provide 10 to 30% cover. The darker and similar sized Mexican crucillo is a common associate on slopes, and the littleleaf sumac is common in swales. The small shrub Dyssodia is abundant. The blue paloverde, typical of low deserts, is surprisingly common, while the mesquite is unusually uncommon.
