This view north from Interstate 10 near the Marsh Station exit is over broad flat ridges of creosote bush and ocotillo, and a valley of mesquite and prickly pear cactus.

Common small shrubs on the ridges include zinnia, fairyduster, and range ratany; in the valleys are Opuntia leptocaulis and burroweed. Whitethorn is absent.
