Description:
Saguaros and ocotillo at 4,000 feet in the Rincon Mts. near Espiritu Canyon, on a south-facing slope.
Junipers occur on the shady north-side. Espiritu Canyon holds a perennial stream bordered by velvet ash. Limestone-derived soils are favored by Chihuahuan desert shrubs, such as Mortonia scabra, and annuals like the yellow composite, Dyssodia pentachaeta.
