Description:
Redington Pass, east side, above San Pedro
In ELT 170a, 3400 feet, looking wast from the A7 Farm Road, 2.3 miles east of Redington Rd., and 3.3 miles west of the San Pedro River Rd. Whitethorn acacia, leafless in early March, is dominant, with prickly pear, mesquite, paperflower, and Isocoma tenuisecta (burroweed) common. The faint purple blooms of Calliandra eriophylla (fairyduster) are in the center foreground. Grasses were scarce. Creosote is mostly absent. A pair of palo verdes, along the ridge at back left, mark the transition to Sonoran desert in the adjacent LTA 191.
